| Welcome to the official Henry Gross website. Whatever
happened to me? Well, after moving to Nashville in 1986, I began
writing songs with many of the finest songwriters in the world.
Working with gifted writers like Roger Cook, Tommy Rocco, Henry Paul,
Clive Gregson, Felix Cavaliere, Anthony Battaglia, Kostas, Randy
Bachman, Ralph Murphy, Garry Tallent, Dennis Locorriere and countless
others has been inspirational and just plain fun.
I did two albums for the Sonet label out of London and Stockholm in
1989 and 1990. I did a project with two of my favorite singers,
Jonathan Edwards, of " Sunshine " fame and Henry Paul Of
"Outlaws and Henry Paul Band" fame. We recorded about a
dozen songs in two or three of the most satisfying days of my
recording career. We called the group The Vereens after entertainer
par excellence Ben Vereen. We may release it in its entirety one-day.
Three of the cuts were included on Nothing But
Dreams, released in 1993 on my own label Zelda Records. As I like to
say "Not only am I the president, I'm a client as well". One
of the songs, Big Guitar, written with Henry Paul went on to be a hit
for Henry's country band, Blackhawk.
My touring schedule was radically curtailed when my mom, Zelda,
required kidney dialysis, and the lion's share of my attention. Moving
her to Nashville, my wife Marilyn and I cared for her until her
passing in June of 1998. My mom was my musical mentor and always my
greatest supporter. It was really wonderful to be able to spend so
much quality time with her.
For those of you who knew me early on in my career it is with the
greatest sadness that I must inform you of the passing in August of
1995 of my first wife, Kathy Reinmann Jones, due to lung cancer. She
was a true friend, constant companion, motivator and believer through
all the ups and downs of my life. Known to everyone we worked with as
"The Weed", a nickname owing to a love of flowers as opposed
to hemp, I'm sure any of our old friends who come to this site would
want to know.
Life in Nashville with Marilyn, (a realtor, homemaker and pro
animal activist), and our three dogs and five cats is wonderful. I have
a recording studio, "Grossland", and with a little help from
my friends, I've completed a new CD which I'm calling
"I'm Hearing Things". It's the first record I've done
where I was both producer and engineer and while it was challenging at
times the results are most satisfying. I believe it's my
best effort to date by far!
I want to personally thank you for coming to my site and
encouraging me to continue making music my life's work. All the best
and as my grandfather used to say…
"Thanks for the visit".
